The future must finally be here, because Volvo has announced plans for real-world autonomous driving (AD) technology testing to begin, with China being named as the locale. Volvo is seeking commuters who drive into the city via the highway, as the highway offers some relatively easy driving, with no stoplights or intersections to navigate. China has a small advantage over the United States when it comes to implementing this technology, as its legislative process is slightly more nimble than the United States’, making the application of relevant laws and regulation easier in China.

You never truly know a car until you get behind the wheel. Feeling the stitching of the steering wheel in your hands and the idling engine at your core is one of the best things a prospective car buyer can do before getting down to brass tacks. Well now, Volvo is giving prospective car buyers a new way to get hands on with their vehicles and it's virtually the next best thing to getting behind the wheel in real life.

Volvo is introducing their partnership with Bowers & Wilkins, a world-renowned audio company, to bring top-of-the-line sound to the top-of-the-line Volvo XC90 and S90.

As much as reproducing sound may be an art, it requires hardware. For those of you who need to know the numbers, we hope these are sufficiently impressive:

• Class D amplifier; 12-channels, and 1400 watts
• 10-20,000 Hz frequency range
• Less than 0.5% Total Harmonic Distortion.
• Less than 0.0004% Total

"Our cars are developed here in Sweden, and have a Swedish heritage," says Anna Rynvall, a Swedish native and User Experience and Connectivity specialist at Volvo Cars. "But there are so many other voices, voices from around the world, that lie behind the development of the car."
