In a May 18th press release, Volvo announced the unveiling of two new concept cars, marking the launch of its global small car strategy. The concept vehicles are called the 40 series, and they rely upon Volvo’s new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA), the first to be built atop the platform. CMA is specifically designed for smaller cars, and has opened up the creative space for engineers and designers to explore some bold new directions. We know the game of waiting for a package to arrive all too well -- that's if it's even delivered at all. In an effort to offer a solution to the package theft epidemic and provide a more timely service, Volvo has partnered with Urb-it -- a startup based in Sweden -- to offer a streamlined delivery service.

The Volvo XC90 is Motor Trend's 2016 SUV of the Year, but for anyone wanting a smaller, car-like crossover experience, the all-new Volvo XC60 gets high marks, particularly with the addition of all-wheel drive.

The exterior styling especially has aged well. Inside, you’ll find elegant Scandinavian styling cues. A chrome strip on the front doors seems to trace around in a spiral that terminates at the interior door handle. Natural wood, instead of heavily lacquered veneer, is found throughout as well. It’s classy, notes Motor Trend.

There's a lot to say about the fully redesigned 2016 Volvo XC90. Designers and engineers sure had a large canvas to work with, considering its seven-passenger design, and they didn't spread their designs too thin. This large luxury crossover is exquisite inside and out, with contemporary curves, tasteful details, upscale maters and a well-appointed cabin.

And while you expect to be pampered in high-tech creature comforts with a luxury vehicle, the XC90 goes one step further and makes many of the standard features safety-oriented, like stability and traction control

Here on our blog we usually highlight new Volvo models that have just come out, but today we're changing things up and looking a little further into the future. Meet the 2016 Volvo V40 Cross Country, an adventure-ready model that looks eager to bring some fun to the road. Although it's not expected to make its way to the U.S until around 2017, there's no harm in getting excited about what it will be bringing to the lineup. Take a look.

No one can argue that Volvo doesn't strive for innovation -- or a downright automotive safety revolution. Come 2020, Volvo aspires to have eliminated all Volvo-related car accidents, and the brand is already equipping its new Volvo models with the safety systems that are working to accomplish this.

They're bundled in a suite of features called Volvo IntelliSafe. Included in the current IntelliSafe package is adaptive cruise control, which allows drivers to set a following distance with the car in front. They brake, the Volvo brakes. They slow down, the Volvo slows down.
