Fans of the Volvo XC90 have no doubt heard that a new generation is on the way. For the 2015 model year, our preferred automaker is going to give the crown jewel of its SUV lineup a stylish facelift as well as a technological overhaul. While these looks have only been teased so far, we can glean some details about what the car might look like through the concept vehicles Volvo is putting out.

So far, we've seen just one, but it signals heavily of what's to come. From what we hear, the Concept C Coupe that bowed at Frankfurt will be the first of three, with the second to be rolled out at the 2014 North American International Auto Show coming up next week.

This model, called the Concept XC Coupe, offers a more utilitarian aura than its coupe forebear, and seems to portray the kind of styling we'll see not just on the eventual XC90, but the rest of the new Volvo SUV lineup.

According to the teaser, which can be seen below, there are definitely some common threads between the concepts, and the teaser we saw of the XC90 some time back. For one, both sport the two-piece headlamps, horizontal space age tail lamps, and more forthright leading fascia. Take a look, and then check back on our blog for coverage of the show.
