True automotive wonks have probably heard the name Robin Page. The rest of us? We wouldn't be able to tell him apart from the next person that walks by. That's okay; it's what the Byers Volvo blog is here for: to inform drivers in the greater Columbus OH area of all things Volvo. Page was recently announced as the Scandinavian automaker's new head of interior design, and it's a pretty big deal.
Why?
It mostly has to do with Page's experience and reputation. Bentley. Rolls-Royce. Bugatti. He's worked at all those places designing some of the most high-end interiors out there. His expertise is so well-thought of that he was picked to design the inside of Queen Elizabeth II's limo. Now, he's bringing that knowledge to Volvo, so you can't help but be excited.
We can now expect Volvo to really make the competition quiver in their boots, as the bar has been raised higher than before. The fruits of Page's labor should be seen on the next-generation Volvo XC90 in 2014 as the vehicle undergoes a refresh. That said, it won't take away from what we already love on new Volvo vehicles, because the safety, quality, and reliability will always be there.
