Saying that Volvo has grand plans for its entire lineup is simply an understatement. Starting this fall, our beloved automaker plans on launching a new technique for manufacturing high-powered four-cylinder mills named Volvo Engine Architecture. This new method may transform the way enthusiasts look at cars all together.
While we completely understand that this is a serious claim, it is a claim Volvo can back up with specifics. Starting with the automaker's strategy to manufacture only four-cylinder engines, V8 and even V6 powerplants will be a piece of history before you know it. A diverse assortment of new engine technologies like the new fuel injection system coined i-ART, guarantees to provide high-end performance to these new, small engines.
How exactly will this work?
"Each injector has a small computer on top, which monitors injection pressure," notes Derek Crabb, Vice President Powertrain Engineering at Volvo Car Group. "Using this information, the self-adapting i-ART system makes sure that the ideal amount of fuel is injected during each combustion cycle."1
All technical jargon aside this basically means that the Volvo Engine Architecture and i-ART technology will result in increased performance, enhanced fuel economy and increased dependability. If this is the type of vehicle you are dreaming of make sure to check back regularly. As soon as we learn more information we will relay them to you right here.
Until then, we encourage you to take a look at our current lineup of new Volvo cars offered at our showroom located at 301 N. Hamilton Rd Columbus, OH 43213.
