For those of you Volvo fans who have been keeping a close watch on the Volvo S60 Polestar concept, you are probably quite intrigued by the title of today's blog post. For those of you Volvo enthusiasts who have yet to hear about this, let us explain precisely why the move to the production line is a bit unexpected for this adrenaline packed spin on the  Volvo S60.

Generating 508 hp and 424 lb.-ft. of torque, the S60 Polestar is a dominant version of the already trendy Volvo auto. The output is already quite remarkable, however there is no such thing as too much power for the automaker's performance sub-brand. But, what is extreme is the concept's price tag.

In particular, the S60 Polestar concept has never gone onto the production phase precisely because it has a price point of approximately $300,000 to manufacture. To date there are only a few private buyers who have stepped up to special order the S60 Polestar, but we don't expect that many more to step forward.

On that note, a few automotive industry gurus have speculated since the beginning that a production version of the S60 Polestar would drop the enormous price point as more drivers stepped up to buy it. If you ask the folks here at Byers Volvo, it seems like Volvo is putting this hypothesis to the test.

Byers Volvo encourage you to check back regularly as we promise the minute we hear more information we will post it here. If there is anything noteworthy about the S60 Polestar's sales in Australia, we promise to keep you up to speed right here on our blog.
