Applying Touch Up Paint Requires Proper Color Match and Patience

You don't have to have the skills of a Picasso to handle a touch-up paint job to eliminate scratches and dings to the surface of your automobile. But you should allow yourself enough time, have patience, and follow the suggestions offered by our service technicians at Byers Volvo Cars.

Don't purchase paint until you've found out your vehicle's specific factory color code. We're happy to help you locate that information to ensure an exact color match. Then determine if the scratch is deep enough to show metal underneath. If so, invest in primer paint as well.

A 220 grit or higher sandpaper is also a necessary tool. Sand around the scratched area to create a rough surface that the touch up paint can properly adhere to. If your scratch is deep, apply primer paint and allow to dry. Then you're ready to apply touch up paint using the included applicator.
